A new month, and a new financial year for us. Setting challenges to not only match but exceed the last year! We started out providing VIP Liaison and Hosting for IBC in Amsterdam –taking care of some ‘big names’ - James Cameron, William Roedy-MTV Networks, Rich Riley-Yahoo, Joanna Shields-Facebook, Chris Dedicoat-Cisco, Mainardo de Nardis-OMD Worldwide and John Smith-BBC Worldwide to name drop just a few of the 48 leaders, this was well received and created some new relationships. We built award winning stands at Decorex Chelsea, SagePay Dublin and a new Marketing Suite in Wapping. Some of the P::4 offspring started ‘big school’ for the first time, returned to bigger school and one to the hallowed halls of Jesus College, Cambridge. Our DigiComms Exec got away from the screen, and spent the day training with future Olympians after winning a Holiday Inn competition - amazing how high he can jump! Inspection visits completed to Hotel Arts, Barcelona, Hilton Malta and Montreaux. We even managed to fit in George Michael and his Orchestral tour! Here’s to the next 11 months...
Well August started on the promise of good weather, but unfortunately didn't keep it! No time to enjoy the weather anyway, what with the run up for IBC at the beginning of September again. Debbie's role is much expanded and the team is looking forward to a busy but successful week. We did take some time for a team night out, and we took the opportunity to put those new P4'ers through their paces! They stood up to it surprisingly well, unlike some of our veterans... no names mentioned of course! We have been expanding our remit with some of our current clients in the last month. It's always nice to be referred by a happy customer. Talking about happy (albeit slightly delayed) we would like to wish "Eid Murbarak" to all those who celebrate Eid. We are having shiny new signs outside soon, so you will be able to find us much more easily when you want to visit. This is good news as some of our previous clients are back in the fold after finding that you never get that P4 Feeling anywhere else.
A busy month all round. New faces in the office, the very pleasant return of some old faces (not that any of us here have 'old' faces in any way...) A few of us even managed a holiday! Working on some fantastic opportunities this month, and looking forward to future work with new clients. We have to keep spreading that P::4 feeling! The only thing we haven't managed this month is the weather - a little more sun would definitely be appreciated right about now. Here's hoping August improves on that front!
The meeting venue www.view-space.co.uk is looking polished and fresh after being redecorated this month. Just shows that we can improve on perfection! Conducted a supplier review this month – fine tuning and adding to the wide range of partners we work with to deliver the best skills and value for our clients. Two days in sunny Cardiff City centre, attending the Summer Eventia the quality of the workshop sessions was excellent, networking and socialising with our industry peers and gaining insight into the client / agency relationship from the client side. The final evening entertainment with Only Men Aloud at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’s brand new venue and the best ever Tom Jones look and sound alike!!
SAGEPays unique approach to exhibiting at Internet World proved to give the visitors a lot to talk about, designing and building the central hospitality bar in the theme of an outdoor garden complete with grass, picnic benches and meeting rooms in a shed, was a walk in the park. Celebratory lunch alongside the great and the good from Bucks Sport with a hugely inspirational talk from Olympic Swimmer Karen Pickering MBE. We took part in a small local business exhibition, to promote our ViewSpace venue, which is going from strength to strength with clients finding new uses for it all the time – from Webcasting, to Market Research to training and executive meetings. Visited IMEX this month in Frankfurt, the usual whirlwind of visiting exhibitors, meeting new suppliers and getting some inspiration for future events – WOW this event industry is huge!
Happy Easter! Between the long weekends, both Bucks 2012 events were delivered without a hitch – co-ordinating more than 200 young people at Stoke Mandeville Stadium was a different challenge for P4, but very rewarding to see so many smiling faces at the end of the day . Whilst counting down to London 2012 we met some of the athletes aiming to qualify for the Olympics and Paralympics next year, and were humbled by the amount of training they do around full time jobs. It is that level of dedication that makes Olympians and Paralympians truly special. If anyone wants to sponsor some of the local hopefuls, do let us know – there are many worthy athletes who would be very grateful for any support! Also we took a trip to see one of our partners in SoHo to see some very cool cutting edge applications for augmented reality – maximising customer engagement and now so much more affordable - amazing.
Well the wedding was amazing. Maybe not looking forward to some of the photographic evidence, but maybe that’s just me! The bride was stunning, the groom didn’t do too badly either. The weather has improved, we have our first webcasts for a new client under our belt and are looking forward to a long and successful relationship with them. Jim had laser eye surgery, meaning his attention to detail will now be better than ever. The Go! Bucks 2012 conferences are really starting to take shape now, with sponsors and delegates coming on board and looking forward to two very successful events next month. Also British Summer Time begins, bring on those longer days!
So much to do in such a short month... Site inspections in Turkey, Greece and Aylesbury! Eating all the chocolates we were bought for Valentine’s day (OK maybe we bought them ourselves, but they still have to be eaten) Not so good for the resolutions, but the number of pitches we managed this month definitely is. And we can’t forget the planning for the big wedding, no not that one, our very own Debbie & John tie the knot next month. Wedding planning is definitely another string to our collective bow!
With a New Year comes the inevitable resolutions! The most common of all has to be getting fit. The P::4 team are gaining a new perspective to sport with planning of the GO! Our Journey to London 2012 Conferences for Bucks 2012. These events are particularly pertinent to us locals as the Paralympic Games were founded right here in Buckinghamshire. Hopefully we can be inspired to achieve those all important resolutions...
A delighted P::4 team were pleased that they had the warmth of all the positive feedback to keep them going, when they arrived back to the much colder climes of England from Barcelona! Post-event reconciliation in progress, Christmas shopping in hand. Over-indulgence won't be a problem as everyone gets their sporty sides out to plan Bucks 2012 events early next year. Happy Holidays to all and we will keep you updated with more of our adventures in the New Year!
Registration are continuing a pace, the team are packing lighter clothes for the beautiful weather we are expecting, and we are pitching, pitching, pitching. Who needs a break at Christmas?!
Heads down - Planning, planning and more planning – countdown to Barcelona and welcoming CISCO Channel Partners, Analysts and Consultants for three days. Bidding to support exciting Bucks Olympic and Paralympic projects in our region. Relaying business training across the continent – from ViewSpace www.view-space.co.uk in Beaconsfield to South Africa for a team of 5.
Working at IBC in Amsterdam, the premier annual conference and exhibition for entertainment and media professionals worldwide, Debbie utilised her not inconsiderable people skills to ensure that the top Keynote Speakers were treated according to their VIP Status. She looked after the heads of BSkyB, BBC, RTL, Olympic and European Broadcasting Services, Texas Instruments, and a range of Global Broadcasters managing their schedule, getting them to the show on time and of course making sure they enjoyed the experience along the way!
A tired and happy P::4 team are savouring the sweet smell of success; back from a week in Cambridge for the WABCG10 conference with conference hosts, the NFU Sugar Division. After a long time planning, through a very turbulent economic period, the conference, tours, exhibition, gala dinner and supreme entertainment were delivered seamlessly in beautiful weather to 300 very appreciative international attendees.
